The Drug Resource Center, co-sponsored by Students
for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) and Health Education, aims to provide Brown students
with accurate, science-based information on drugs and the risks associated with
drug use. Operating under a harm reduction philosophy, DRC peer educators work
to minimize the negative impacts of licit and illicit drug use on individuals
and on the community. The DRC serves as an accessible, confidential and non-judgmental
space in which students can ask questions and receive reliable information about
the consequences of drug use. Drug use includes the use of alcohol, illicit drugs
and the misuse of prescription drugs. The DRC will also make referrals to on and
off-campus treatment and counseling services.
